About Pine Ridge's History
Pine Ridge Assembly started in 1995 at the home of Pastor Harlen Springs and his loving wife, Dianna. Their vision was to create a place to share the message of Salvation. God called Pastor Harlen to preach the truth about God, His Son, Jesus and the Holy Spirit many years ago and now God had called him to build up a Ministry.
It all started with weekly meetings in their home. But it wasn't long until they outgrew their living room. It was obvious they would need more room so they rented a conference room at a nearby hotel for Sunday morning worship and continued the Bible Studies in their home. The small church continued to grow. A place was needed to set a foundation for a House of the Lord.
Pastor Harlen's vision from God had included the vision of a beautiful church on a hill. So he began looking for the land to build this church. In the meantime church was held in another rented building on the Belt Highway where they stayed for a couple of years.
Harlen found the perfect land on Highway 169 S. He began construction as soon as possible acting as the general contractor as well as doing all the work he could himself. Dianna recalls Harlen always working at the church. Finally in 1999 the beautiful new building was ready to be filled with the Pine Ridge Assembly church family.
It still needed a little work but the House of the Lord was ready for worship. Unfortunately, in 2002, Harlen had an unforeseen accident leaving him impaired. The Lord had already given us a wonderful miracle by healing a man who doctors would not given a 1 in a million chance of surviving. (see photo album)
Harlen is unable to preach but his son, Sonny Springs was quick to leave his home and livelihood in Memphis, TN to act as Pastor until his dad is completely healed by the Lord and able to lead his loving and hurting congregation. This is where we are now.......
